It’s a rare skill to create a design that not just works for the space but also captures the vague notions that were in our heads and hearts. As a non-technical (clueless) person they made me feel involved and didn’t once blind us with either science or jargon. We’ve not just got an ace kitchen, we’ve had a great time getting to know these lovely people.

And you don’t just get a relaxed and rewarding experience – you also get the finest outcome. The attention to detail, the way they can bring your ideas to something that’s super-ply right is wonderful. Massive thanks and the highest recommendation.

PS – If you have a tricky corner cupboard wait to be properly amazed.

It took us quite a long time to settle on a final design and Doug and Keren were really helpful (and patient) through the process – but only when it came to installation did we find out what a perfectionist Doug is; which is reflected brilliantly in the end result. Doug and his team designed, made and installed all the furniture for our new kitchen and “family room”. We commissioned designs from five designers, and the design from Koivu was head-and-shoulders above the four others – we were thrilled. We also were very impressed by quality and finish of the two other Koivu kitchens we were able to visit. The design process was more detailed than we expected too, as it forced us to think through exactly what storage we needed, and initial ideas were adjusted accordingly. And we benefitted from advice about accessories we needed. Doug and his designer were very patient with us as we agonised about finishes, then they set about manufacturing and installing out furniture. Watching the installation process was a revelation in meticulous and painstaking attention to detail. The end result is fantastic, and a year later I am still admiring it and the many design details and subtleties that make it work so well for us. I’d love to be able to say that I’ll turn to Koivu again next time we need a fitted kitchen, but this one will surely outlast us!
